| Bio: | Name: Luna Lovegood Date of Birth: July 13, 1981 Age and Date of Death: Died in 2041, age 60. Manner of Death: Killed by a beast she had yet to name in the wilds of the Amazon Brief Life History: Luna Lovegood's mother died when she was nine, so she was mostly raised by her father, editor of the Quibbler. That resulted in her being very open-minded to the existence of things that most people thought were absolute nonsense. When in Hogwarts, she was sorted into Ravenclaw and was in the same year as Ginny Weasley. When Voldemort rose, she was one of the first people to believe in his existence and defended Harry to other people who called him crazy. She also arranged for her father to publish an interview with Harry in the Quibbler so that his side of the story could be heard. When Dumbledore's Army was started, she joined up and then helped Harry contact Sirius as well as ride off to the Ministry on Threstals. When they came under attack there, she held off four Death-Eaters on her own to protect herself, Ron and Ginny. She also comforted Harry about the death of Sirius towards the end of the year. During her OWLs year, she attended Slughorn's Xmas party with Harry, commented on a Quidditch game, and fought alongside Harry when the Death Eaters attacked. The next year, she was present at Bill and Fleur's wedding, recognizing a Polyjuiced Harry by his expression alone, and when she returned to Hogwarts, she attempted to steal Godric Gryffindor's sword with Ginny and Neville. Along with those two, she revived and lead Dumbledore's Army, but was captured by Death Eaters on her way home for Xmas and held captive in the Malfoy mansion's basement. When freed, she gave the eulogy at Dobby's funeral and returned to school once the holidays were over. Luna helped Harry break into the Ravenclaw common room to see the diadem replica, stunned Alecto Carrow, and fought in the second battle of Hogwarts, facing Bellatrix Lestrange herself with Ginny's help. After the war, Luna became a naturalist, touring the world and discovering many new types of magical beasts. She married Rolf Scamander, another naturalist, but had no children with him. HOME AND OCCUPATION Setting: Mountains Occupation: Magizoologist. This world has many strange creatures, still. Luna wants to find out what she can about them. Brief description of the character's home: The cottage is quite small and has vines growing on the outside, roof thatched with a charming little chimney piping out colorful smoke into the sky. Inside, although small, the cottage is decorated in cheerful bright colors and has plenty of photographs of her friends everywhere. It's always warm and smells good, as if there is something cooking in the oven no matter when you enter. DESCRIPTION Appearance: Luna has blond hair, not bright but a little washed out. Her eyes are a pale blue as well, and her height is about average. Pale-skinned and dreamy-looking, she’s usually smiling in a vaguely happy way. Her robes are usually colorful and brightly decorated and Luna often wears unusual jewelry that she made herself. She likes to customize her clothing as well and wears Muggle clothing as often as she wears robes. She doesn’t pay much attention to what she looks like, and never wears makeup unless a friend puts it on her. Personality: Luna’s rather a dreamy person. She tends to live with her head in the clouds, building castles in the air while she looks for Winged Sprom-Rickles. She’s much more open-minded than most people, verging on naïve, and has a very calm disposition. She is not easily angered or made fearful and takes in the world around her through her own personal filter of optimism. Instead of being a Pollyanna-type personality, though, Luna is more likely to be quietly and unexpectedly helpful, lacking in the social filters that govern what most people say and do. She is very fond of her friends and very close to them. Friendship and loyalty mean a lot to her, even though she doesn’t make big speeches about them. She tends to have unexpected insights into the world around her, being quite good at reading people even if she doesn’t offer them a shoulder to cry on or comfort them in any traditional sense of the word.
